[西岸愛牛肉] 第六集 Eminem vs Everlast、Limp Bizkit、Dilated Peoples

Eminem樹大招風，嘴巴也是口無遮攔，搞牛肉的能力自然不在話下。從世界有名的Mariah Carey、Machine Gun Kelly、Ja Rule，到較小牌的Benzino、Esham等人都是炮火下的犧牲者。這篇就來談談和他搞過牛肉的Everlast，而Limp Bizkit和Dilated Peoples算是這起事件中擦槍走火的配角，所以也一起講。 

Everlast

Eminem應該大家都比較熟悉，就不多做介紹了。這邊來介紹一下大家可能較不熟的Everlast。Everlast aka Whitey Ford出生於紐約長島，後來跟隨家人搬到LA居住。Everlast一開始是和Ice-T混在一起，Ice-T自己的首張專輯 “Rhyme Pays” 取得不錯的成績後，就搞了自己的廠牌Rhyme $yndicate Records。他從Afrika Bambaataa那邊得到了靈感，認為要弄一個西岸版本的Zulu Nation，大家互相協助，而不是競爭。於是Ice-T弄了一個東西岸藝人聯手的Rhyme Syndicate計畫，找了東西兩岸的歌手、DJ一起做歌，於1988年發表了 “Rhyme Syndicate Comin' Through”專輯，當時東岸的Afrika Islam、Donald D及西岸的Low Profile(WC和DJ Aladdin)都有參與這張專輯。

Everlast也在這張專輯出現，唱了一首Syndication，當時的他就像是Ice-T的徒弟，會一起出現在MV和雜誌。Everlast 1990年發表了個人首張專輯 “Forever Everlasting” ，由大哥Ice-T監製，和Ice-T、Rhyme Syndicate的團員Donald D也有一起合作一首The Rhythm，但這張專輯的銷售量並不好。

後來Everlast改和高中同學Danny Boy、DJ Lethal組成了3人嘻哈團體House of Pain，並於1992年發表同名專輯 “House of Pain”，靠著DJ Muggs製作的Jump Around一炮而紅，獲得白金唱片。1996年他脫團單飛，之後他也出了幾張成績不錯的個人專輯，2006年和Danny Boy、DJ Lethal、Ill Bill、Slaine等人組了La Coka Nostra這個饒舌團體，算是西岸的老屁股了。

Everlast和Ice-T、Donald D一起上雜誌。

DJ Lethal

DJ Lethal其實也算這個牛肉中有點關鍵的人物。DJ Lethal出生在拉脫維亞，之後舉家移民到義大利，再一路移到紐約、洛杉磯。一開始他因為和Everlast有共同的朋友而認識，Everlast欣賞DJ Lethal的Beatbox和DJ技巧，因此讓他加入了House of Pain。

 House of Pain休團後，他和House of Pain當時的開場團體Limp Bizkit的團員成為了好友，之後也一起做音樂並加入他們。後來DJ Lethal也加入了La Coka Nostra，算是一路上都有跟到很棒的團體，DJ Lethal曾幫許多歌手製作音樂，包括will.i.am、Method Man、Ol' Dirty Bastard、Cypress Hill等等。 

Limp Bizkit

Limp Bizkit來自佛羅里達的Jacksonville，曾來台參加山海屯音樂節，聽說過程十分disrespect，鬧得大家不歡而散。Limp Bizkit的曲風結合饒舌和搖滾，被歸類為Nu Metal團體。他們和Interscope Records旗下的Flip Records簽約發行首張專輯 “Three Dollar Bill, Y'all” ，Eminem的Shady Records也是在Interscope Records旗下，因此其實他們某種程度也算是同事。首張專輯成績不錯，第二章專輯 “Significant Other” 更是將他們推向國際，成為最具知名度的Nu Metal團體之一。

Eminem Beef事件

Everlast和Eminem兩人的牛肉開端其實也挺無聊，有點玻璃心的感覺。1999年時，兩人在恐怖電影 ”End of Days” 的原聲帶各自貢獻了一首歌。而在1999年的某場演唱會的時候，Everlast說他想跟Eminem打招呼、握手，但Em故意忽視他。Em則表示他沒有和Everlast打招呼是因為當下沒認出他而已，Em還說Everlast也沒有認出他。

Dilated Peoples - Ear Drums Pop (Remix)

 總之Everlast在和Dilated Peoples在2000年合作了一首"Ear Drums Pop (Remix)"，Everlast就在這首歌曲中開始diss Eminem，提到了Haley、Shady等字眼。還說"I'll bust that ass, keep your eyes on the floor"，這句話應該就是在指沒看到一事。 
"Cock my hammer, spit a comet like Haley
I buck a .380 on ones that act shady"

Eminem - I Remember (Dedication To Whitey Ford)

之後Eminem數次在公開場合靠杯Everlast。並寫了"I Remember (Dedication to Whitey Ford)"，一開頭就直接嗆爆，並嘲笑Everlast的年紀和風格。 
"There once was a man who liked to jump around
But he got too old to jump up and down
So he put the mic down and picked the guitar up
Started singing the blues like there was no tomorrow"
Everlast - Whitey's Revenge (Eminem Diss)

 Everlast也不甘示弱，在他的網站上發了"Whitey's Revenge"回嗆。嘲笑Eminem被他母親控告的事情。歌曲最後表示他不想再繼續diss了。 
"And you can't keep your woman from goin' astray
Better run and check your kid for your DNA
I take care of my moms, you get sued by yours
With your corny metaphors about drugs and crack whores"
Eminem和兄弟們D12再以"Quitter"這首歌反擊，重新講了一開始的沒打招呼事件，提到自己忙著表演、根本沒空屌他。還嘲笑說幫他們開場的Limp Bizkit比他們還更會炒熱場子，偷走了整場show，還偷走了他的DJ (DJ Lethal)。 
"You said I passed you in a lobby and I glanced at you
Like I ain't notice you, bitch, I had a show to do
Like I'm supposed to be star-struck, come over to you
You better shut your fuckin mouth while you oh-for-two
Back in '94 Limp opened the show for you
Rocked the crowd better and stole the whole show from you
Took your motherfuckin' DJ and stole him too
So you fall in a slump and get all emotional"
The Reason Eminem Dissed Limp Bizkit

這支影片中Eminem有以他的角度解釋Limp Bizkit的事情。當時他和Limp Bizkit以及其他藝人舉辦Anger Management Tour，一起巡迴演唱。Eminem表示是Limp Bizkit自己說要加入這場牛肉，Fred Durst說你就寫東西，寫好我就唱。DJ Lethal則是不爽Everlast常常偷他的大麻。因此Eminem訂了錄音室，找了Fred和DJ Lethal一起在洛杉磯錄歌來diss Everlast，結果兩人都在錄音前放鴿子，Fred Durst說他牙痛無法到，DJ Lethal說他和Everlast關係其實也還好，不想要公開diss他，所以在臨槍上陣前喊停。

 Eminem原本就想說算了，歌還是照錄，還在歌詞中稱讚Limp Bizkit，這首歌就是前面提到的"Quitter"。但後來不到兩個禮拜，DJ Lethal在MTV的TRL節目上被問到這盤牛肉。他表示Eminem是很好的MC，但是如果Everlast和Eminem幹架的話，Everlast會贏。面對這種搖擺的立場，Eminem看電視看到這幕後，真的很不爽，於是寫了"Girls"作為D12於2001年發表的首張專輯"Devil's Night"中的隱藏曲目。歌詞裡面把Everlast和Limp Bizkit都diss一波。 

Eminem - Girls (Limp Bizkit Diss)

 Eminem在"Girls"先是說他以前和Limp Bizkit沒有牛肉，但現在有了。然後還提到了B-Real，因為B-Real和Everlast、Eminem的關係都不錯，B-Real在House of pain於1992年的首張同名專輯中就有合作一首"Put Your Head Out"，B-Real雖然當時和Eminem還沒合作，但和同一掛的Dr. Dre、Snoop Dogg、Xzibit等人本來就熟識，和Eminem的關係應該也OK。在這場Beef中B-Real沒發表意見、保持中立。Eminem應該就是在說Limp Bizkit要是不想幫忙就中立就好，幹嘛假裝要幫然後後來又不來、又在背後講幹話。
"I never had no beef with you corny son-of-a-bitches
But now the shit is broken, you can't do nothin' to fix it
So I'm tellin' you right now, motherfuck a Limp Bizkit
Now I'ma be real, B-Real was real
He ain't say shit the whole time me and Whitey was beefin, see, he chilled
He was cool with the whole situation and kept it neutral"
訪談中提到的DJ Lethal上MTV的事件，歌詞也有寫到。 
"Then I look on the TV, now look who's mentioning me
That little fuckin' weasel, DJ Lethal, on MTV
After I gave you props in that song, you on national TV
Talkin' 'bout Everlast is gonna whip my ass when he sees me?"

Evidence - Search for Bobby Fischer

由於Eminem在"Quitter"和"Girls"兩首作品中都有小diss一下Dilated Peoples。例如在"Quitter"當中，叫Evidence這種小咖沒事別來亂: 
"Dilated, go ask your people how I leave ya
With your three CDs nobody sees, when they released
Evidence, don't fuck around with real MCs
You ain't ready for no underground beef, so fuck geeks"
而在"Girls"當中也嗆到:
"I'd have never involved my crew if it wasn't for pupils
Peoples, whatever your backpackin' cipherin' name is"
因此Dilated Peoples也跳出來，發表了"Search 4 Bobby Fisher"這首歌。Evidence嘲笑Eminem根本不是來自Detroit，沒資格代表底特律(老虎隊，底特律的棒球隊)，說他是住在附近的Warren的trailer裡面。
"The truth is I'm about as much from Detroit as you are
I'm rackin up points, shit cat I'm scorin
You ain't a true tiger, liar, you from Warren
A trailer trash town where daddy stuck it to ya"
 沒過多久之後，Eminem和Everlast的牛肉就宣告結束，兩邊都把想講的都講了，對於對方還算保有尊重。Eminem在接受Vibe訪問時也確認了此事。他在2013年發表的"Marshall Mathers LP 2"專輯中"Baby"這首歌還有shout out一下Everlast。

後來Evidence也說他們已經不搞牛肉了，他們去底特律的時候，Proof (RIP)就有去他們的巡迴巴士上跟他們聊天，Evidence也覺得Mr. Porter人很好，後來他還和Eminem的DJ Alchemist組了Step Brothers一起做音樂。至於曾經和Eminem很熟的Fred Durst則是曾在訪問中說過他們兩人就斷了聯繫，沒在聯絡了。 回過頭來看，這個牛肉並沒有延燒太久(畢竟本來就只是雞毛蒜皮的小事)，不過看到這麼peace的Dilated Peoples也和人搞牛肉倒也是蠻有趣的。
